The former warehouses of Liuni S.p.A. were transformed into the UCI Certosa multiplex theater designed by architect Giancarlo Marzorati: it is a complex of eight cinemas, retail shops selling products linked to show business and films, and restaurants.
The multiplex theater, with a capacity of 1,300 seats, is composed of a ground floor with the lobby, ticket office, café, restaurant, and restrooms; a first floor with spaces and corridors for traffic flow and access to the screening rooms; and a second technical floor for film projectors.
The characteristic of this complex is transparency and an extensive use of light to create special effects in line with the cinematic purpose of this building.
The gold mirrored glass facades are maintained and emphasized by the newly designed pyramid-shaped entrance: the very verticalized element, which is especially visible at a distance, is a strong visual and symbolic reference for the structure.
The mall and spaces below the stairs are used for shops selling products linked to show business and films
