The new Hotel Barcelò Milano is located within the Stephenson district and was born from the desire to create a representative element for the city, in an industrial area that is the protagonist of a new urban development further encouraged by the EXPO 2015 universal exhibition.

The project was drawn up by four hands (by the architect Giancarlo Marzorati for the architectural project, and by the architect Simone Micheli for the interior design) and created a tower of 20 floors above ground. The structure comes to life from a three-storey glazed base, in which reception spaces are developed such as reception and bar, fitness and spa, conference rooms and Piloty floor for events. From the fourth floor to the top, there are 280 rooms. The entrance to the building is highlighted by a large canopy in the shape of a dragonfly's wing.

From the plant engineering point of view, the hotel proves to be an important avant-garde design experience for the use of high-level construction and technological systems, heat exchangers that use geothermal energy and countless other control systems that allow their management " green ". The characteristics of the external envelope influence the energy behavior of the building, as a whole designed to significantly reduce consumption.

The interiors are peculiar for the choice of sinuous architectural forms and pastel colors: the visitor is accompanied in a suggestive sensory experience. The light of the surfaces is broken up by colored furnishings and architectural elements with organic lines that become sculptures, creating the fluidity of the space.

The Barcelò stands as a rewrite fee for future hotels to come. Externally distinctive and hieratic, thanks to the careful work of the architect Marzorati, and internally iconic and super functional, thanks to the dynamic sign of the architect Micheli.
